I'm an ingrate

I've re-read the post below, and while it reflected my attitude the day I wrote it, today, I'm embarrassed by it.  I mean, really truly embarrassed.  I know its natural to want better than you have, but why was I making myself miserable over it?  By accepting "acceptable" we've blossomed as a family.  What is my problem?  I need to be incredibly grateful that "acceptable" has given us opportunities we have not had as a family prior to living in "acceptable" quarters.  There are things that are important to me that having a nicer home would take away.

I guess I'm not only an ingrate, but also an idiot!  Except for I realized it before it was too late, so I guess I'm not as big an idiot as I would have been if I had just gone through life not realizing I was an ingrate.

I agree with Kristina.

Isn't blogging great? You can read something you wrote, wonder why you were feeling that way, and learn more about yourself and how you want to be. I love it!

I liked your previous post. Because almost everyone has those feeligns sometimes. One of the greatest growing opportunities comes from putting those feelings in their proper perspective.

There are so many wonderful things in life to be enjoyed, and many of them seem to cost a lot of money, which many of us don't have a lot of. BUT in pondering this I think we realize that the truly essential and important things and the stuff that happiness is made of really doesn't come with a budget, at all. And is available to everyone.

So your previous post was neither ungrateful nor idiotic!

It's normal to want a bit more than you have. It's when you obsess and make it your life's goal to get to that point (which you never reach) that it becomes a problem.

Your not an ingrate. You are just like everyone else. :)

Yes- well said , Kristina...you are HUMAN...and meanwhile dont forget that seeing you be human ,and having anything less than perfect thoughts, is also a comfort to the rest of us out here in blog land.

We all go up and down....appreciating the ride is the key, right???? Have a great week!

I don't have anything deep or profound to add, except that it is possible to be content, and not complacent. Happy and appreciative, and ever pressing forward. OH, and you can use the fish sticks to make fish tacos, California rolls, or use an amazing new dip or sauce besides catchup. Spicy peanut sauce comes to mind. Hang in there my friend...I sure love how real you are. It gives me hope!
