the "IT" couple

Given our Cave Hair Clan status, and my sister's close resemblance to Cousin It, I'll forgive you if you're assuming that I'm referring to our physical appearance. (Which, lets face it, probably leaves something to be desired).  But I'm not.  I'm referring to the fact that suddenly, out of left field, we have 5 couples lined up to whom we owe Double Date nights.  When the heck did we get a social calendar?

( I feel like a "Real Housewife"-only not skinny, not rich, and without the fake boobs...anybody want to go ahead and schedule the catty luncheon wherein one of us says something accidentally hurtful and then we contrive opportunities to confront each other?  Its basically inevitable, right?)

Wow. I have to say that I'm impressed. I wish we were more like that. I thrive on social interaction while my husband could live in a cave in the middle of nowhere for 4 years, not seeing a single other person, and be okay. Have fun on your double dates!

I am jealous! For the first 4 years of our marriage, we never had couples to do anything with, until one of my best friends got married.

I love double dates!

Invite them all over at once and call it a party.

How fun!
The closest thing we get to a double date is waving at our neighbors as we pass them at Costco.

Ooh, I am impressed. Did you change anything to become the "it" couple? Because I need tips.

Just SO said...

I would totally schedule a catty luncheon with you.

Enjoy your double dates!

I think Karen up there has a great idea! Just have one big fabulous party with everyone! That sounds like a plan and then all the women can do the catty housewives thingy! Just make sure you videotape it all so you can post it on your blog! lol!

I always feel really grateful for our friends. We have to schedule several months out because we get so busy with family stuff. In fact, my husband has forbidden me to plan anything during the month of May because our socializing takes over his free times on the weekends and he needs to get stuff done around the house. I wish that life were less complicated and busy and that we could spend even more time with our friends. There are some really wonderful people in this world!

Have fun being social. Those friendships are the things that last through eternity!
