Remember about 6 weeks ago I started the South Beach Diet? Well, I was excited because I lost 5 lbs the first 8 days. Now, 6 full weeks later, and only 2 "cheat days" in the mix, I have not lost a single ounce more than that original 5 lbs. I will say, I feel healthier and happier eating these foods that are much closer to the Word of Wisdom, I'm just not losing any wieght. However, I have to be honest and admit that I am not exercising. On the other hand, JP and I joined the gym Saturday night and I'm looking forward to getting to work at the gym. Last year I really got into the grove with regular exercise and it became such an important part of my daily routine. I'm looking forward to having that in my life again.

It will happen. You are just in the "rut" phase. I think that's where I am too. You loose and then it stops and hen you loose again. Joining the gym will really help! GOOD LUCK!!
I was going to a power pump class twice a week plus the eliptical...after 3 months I didn't lose an ounce. I was sore and tired every day. I quit going to the class and upped my cardio- I run and do a few toning weight exercises when I am in the mood, but run 3 times a week.
I really haven't lost any weight, although I can see I ave toned up a little (I mean little), but I am really trying to accept the fact that I am not a little 20 something woman who could drop 5 lbs when I needed to. I am 38 (yikes) and I see the changes in myself, and I am just trying to accept it.
Keep going, but find something you enjoy so that it is the reward in itself- not the number on the scale.
Oh my heck...I know how you feel. You know what's really sad? I have been on metformin (which controls insulin..) for awhile, but I went off of it for a week. I was on it for an entire YEAR and didn't gain weight, I only lost it when I went on diets. This ONE week that I was off it (eating normally, not on a diet) I gained 8 (EIGHT) pounds!!!! *cry* *sob* We also have a gym membership that we never use. I think we should make a "gym usage" pact...lol
The weight will come off! I remember Que saying how he woudl have these cycles where he wouldn't lose for weeks and then all of the sudden it would come off. Your excercising will help a lot! Keep going, I know it will work!
April, I like the pact idea! Lets make it on the Fit for Service Blog.
I think that this is perfectly normal. It will come off again.
so frustrating when we get hit a pleateu! I am sure it will pass soon!!
Me too.
But I've had TOO many cheat days. I've been exercising, though. I lost 5 and got excited. I've gained 1-2 back. Blah. I'm trying, but not as hard.
I just can't find the time to prepare food when I'm only home for dinner. Somedays.
Exercising will really help.
Well, I've been on Weight Watchers this time for 2 months TODAY, and have lost a grand total of 4.4 lbs. I am not doing it as meticulously as I should, and did do a coule of years back. Unfortunately, I am motivated to lose weight by weight loss. So that's a bad motivator, clearly. I'm in on the pact.
Hear ya.
With ya Sister!
