Something to be THANKFUL for

As George Orwell said:"People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf."

or,

Out of every 100 men,
10 should not be here,
80 are nothing but targets,
9 are the real fighters,
and we are lucky to have them,
for they the battle make."
"Ah, but the ONE,
ONE of them is a WARRIOR,
and he will bring the others back."
Heraclitus 500 BC

With the coming of Veterans day next week and the Marine Corps birthday (and unfortunately the election)... How many of us know what has been done to maintain our liberty, and "American way of life"? Check out this site, then thank a vet!

All they ask is that we remeber, teach your children...

Thank you for posting about this. We definitely need to remember why we have our freedoms.

Great reminder of our freedoms.
(I am trying not to copy Erin's comment) it is almost exactly what I was going to say!

I really admire people who are not ashamed to be patriotic. Thanks for this post.

Sooo true! Our son is a Navy Seal and has served two tours of duty right now. Our soldiers are powerful examples of our nation and freedoms we enjoy! I was touched while listening to KSL this morning about a gentleman who wanted to be first in line at the polls, but when a Marine showed up second in line, he allowed the Marine to go before him. And then when he finished voting, everyone all stood and clapped for him! Gave me chills. Thanks for visiting my blog!

oh Jeni, that is such a great story. That gives me chills too! I always like to acknowledge an old Marine when I see one out and about wearing his hat or jacket. Its amazing how big their smile gets when a youngish family acknowledges their service. And it makes us feel good too.

Brady says get a Families Are Forever video and a book of Mormon. Write your testimony in the front and give both of them to the little girl and tell her here is how you know your family will be forever. Good luck!
