I am confused

There is this new blog that I have been reading and I'm totally confused by it. I am 85.9% certain that its satire, but then, there's so much detail in the stories, that I start to wonder if its for real. (it is not TAMN btw, hers is way too obviously satire and I dont' feel bad at all for playing along.) But my problem with this new blog that I*think* is satire, is I want to play along, and I want to laugh hysterically, but I am scared to death that I am going to make a complete ass of myself if I tell her how hysterical she is, and it turns out she's not trying to be funny at all, and this is her actual life. There is one significant clue that this may be satire, all of her blogs listed as "inspiration" are satire...so, its got to be, right? I'm not callouse and rude if I laugh along with her ridiculously ridiculous family life, right?

Is it the jello blog? I just assumed it was satire, I really really hope it is.
And I commented like it was.

It's the jello one, right?

99.99% sure it's satire.

At least that's what I told Jillene, because her replies sounded like she thought it was serious, and I'm pretty sure it's not.

That's the hard thing about writing posts! You can be meaning one thing, and it might totally come out the wrong way. I didn't get SSB the first time I read it either.

I've never heard of the jello blog.

I've totally been on the Jello blog, if that's it, but it must have gone over my head... now I have to go back and re-read.

It IS the jello one. I think its hilarious and the kids names just kill me....and then I realized, there are actual families out there who really have named their children in this pattern, and I started to worry that I would offend if I continued to laugh. It makes me 'dis' comfortable even though I'm convinced its a joke. It just rings so close to reality that its a little scary!

aha! I just figured out who left my "followers"...she must have caught me stirrin' up the kool-aid and figured it was time to get out.
*wink*
Nobody, you gotta check the green jello salad blog. If you really want to get a clear look inside what most Mormons think of as being a "typical" mormon family (oh yeah, "typical" really pisses me off...that would be a good rant one day)read Green Jello Salad. You'll see exactly what makes most of us squirm to be associated with.

Well. I feel like a giant dork, because I thought it WAS real, and I was rolling my eyes over here in crazyland at her...

Where is this jello one because I've got to know!

Alison, I posted the link just above this post. It really is pretty spot-on...so spot on its hard to tell. Motherboard, we know you are not a dork because you rolled your eyes.

Nobody You Know said...

OK, now I'm confused. I don't see any link. I don't even think you can link in a comment.

Help.

And why am I getting the message on "typical" mormons? Did I say that somewhere? I know I didn't. I wouldn't have.

Hopefully the jello blog will clear things up for me. If only I could get the address to it.

here you go. I just knew that you are not Mormon that's the only reason the "typical" one was addressed to you. I have issues with Mormons who like to say things like "I'm just not a typical Mormon" as a reason why they don't get along with their congregation, because all that tells me is that they haven't bothered to get to know a single person around them or they would have discovered there's no such thing as a typical mormon. AND-if you find somebody who says they ARE typical, they are either a liar or headed for a major crisis SOON ! LOL
